USB-C charger and cable sets in the UK: what to choose
A fast charger is a system: the device, wall plug and cable must all support a compatible charging standard. The slowest part sets the maximum speed.
Start at the device
Check the socket on the device. Most recent Android phones and iPhone 15 or later use USB-C. Earlier compatible iPhones commonly use an 8-Pin connection.
Choose the plug output
Around 20W–25W suits many phones. Tablets and laptops can require more. A higher-rated plug does not force extra power into a correctly designed device; the device negotiates what it supports.
Match both cable ends
A modern USB-C plug requires USB-C at the plug end. The device end may be USB-C or 8-Pin. Check both ends before ordering.
